National Profile
The Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN) mission is to
promote and advance professional rehabilitation practice to
enhance the quality of life for those affected by disability and
chronic illness. This is done through education, advocacy,
collaboration, and research.
A national conference is held yearly in October. Rehabilitation
nurses throughout the United States attend to collaborate
with their peers and attain current educational information.
Also, many ARN members present poster or paper sessions
on various rehabilitation topics.

COARN members work in a variety of settings,
such as:
-Acute care hospitals and clinics
-Sub acute care facilities
-Long term care facilities
-Rehabilitation facilities
-Private practice
-Case Management
-Insurance companies

Local Profile
The Central Ohio Association of Rehabilitation Nurses
(COARN) was charted in 1989 to promote the national
philosophy on a local level. COARN supports this promotion
by advancing the practice of rehabilitation nurses locally. This
is done by:
*Bi-monthly educational offerings with a focus on issues
related to current rehabilitation nursing practice
*Periodic certification review courses to help prepare for
the CRRN certification test
*Quarterly Newsletter
*Community Service
